MARKET OVERVIEW

1.1 Definition and scope of study

A baby stroller is a small carriage with wheels used to transport a baby or toddler. Baby carriages are frequently collapsible to make transportation by car or other means easier. On average they are made for children from the age of 5 / 6 months and accompany him up to 3/4 years, depending on the needs and habits of the child. The stroller market is a subset of the broader childcare and baby products business, specifically the large nursery segment, which includes car seats, strollers, and highchairs. Strollers come in a variety of styles, each with its own set of features: the cane stroller, the combination stroller, the 3-wheel stroller, and the multiple stroller are the most common ones. The European standard UNI-EN 1888:2005 governs the carriage of one or more children in baby carriages and baby carriages in Europe; this criterion must be met before any stroller may be purchased. This regulation takes into account a variety of factors, including the child's age and weight, the materials used in their production, safety measures, and further information about the maker.

The global Baby Stroller market is estimated to increase at a CAGR of 2.0 percent from 2021 to 2025, reaching USD 1773 million by 2025, up from USD 1637.3 million in the previous research period.

In Italy, the typical cost of a first-hand stroller is around 300 euros and finding a good one for less than that is tough. The market for baby carriages is tied to the birth rate of the reference country; Italy's birth rate has been declining in recent years, and it is expected to go below 400 thousand births for the first time in 2021. If the predictions are correct, the number will be approximately 390 thousand. This will undoubtedly have an impact on the primary market. In Italy, the secondary market, particularly through e-commerce, is booming, especially when it comes to platforms for comparing different products.

Brevi, Cam, Chicco, Foppapedretti, Inglesina, Momon, Peg-Perego are the most popular Italian brands.

Electric strollers are the way of the future, with automatic gaits that help parents who must cope with slopes and descents, as well as other features like charging smartphones directly from the stroller. Another noteworthy development is modular strollers made of lighter but more durable materials.
