A relojoaria de luxo é uma categoria que agrupa relógios de fabricantes de qualidade cuja fabricação exigia trabalhos precisos de relojoaria sobre movimentos mecânicos, mas também sobre a elaboração e acabamento de caixas de relógios, assim como sobre elementos como mostradores e ponteiros.

O segmento relojoeiro de alta gama explodiu em França com a ascensão das marcas de luxo nos anos 90, impulsionado em particular pelo desenvolvimento do turismo de massas na Ásia desde os anos 2000. A crise de 2008 pôs um fim a este boom, mas a indústria recuperou desde 2010.

Tradicionalmente dominada por grandes empresas históricas o mercado tem visto a chegada de novos concorrentes, primeiro nos anos 90, depois mais recentemente Na verdade, em primeira instância, o grande marcas de moda mas também pequenos jogadores artesanais estão a tentar fazer um lugar para si neste mercado.   • The year 2023 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Lip affair and the watchmaker Pequignet.
  • Pequignet was founded in 1973.
  • Hugues Souparis, founder of the family investment fund Enowe, became Pequignet's Chairman in 2021.
  • Pequignet, with around thirty employees, became France's only haute horlogerie manufacture after the release of its first in-house movement, the Calibre Royal, in 2011.
  • Pequignet was acquired by four of its executives in 2017.
