1.1 Définition et présentation

Le terme "luxe éblouissant" désigne les vêtements plus élégants, plus raffinés et plus soignés que ceux définis comme "décontractés", qui sont utilisés dans la vie de tous les jours. En général, les vêtements de luxe sont utilisés pour aller au bureau et pour des occasions spéciales telles que des dîners, des concerts ou des cérémonies. D'autres façons de définir les vêtements de luxe sont "smart casual" ou "country club".Tous les vêtements entrent dans cette catégorie : manteaux, vestes, chemises, pantalons, chaussures, ceintures et sacs. Dans cette étude, nous nous intéresserons aux vêtements de luxe pour femmes, à l'exclusion des accessoires.

En ce qui concerne le marché mondial du luxe, il représentait 67,85 milliards de dollars en 2018 et on estime qu'entre 2015 et 2025, le marché croîtra à un taux de croissance annuel moyen de 3,5 %. Cette croissance est principalement due au fait que les produits de luxe contribuent de plus en plus à une meilleure acceptation sociale et également à l'augmentation du revenu disponible des consommateurs.

En Italie, le marché de l'habillement de luxe, en particulier le marché féminin, a toujours été caractérisé par une forte croissance, principalement en raison des compétences de fabrication et d'artisanat des entreprises italiennes et grâce au concept du Made in Italy. En 2019, les entreprises italiennes figurant sur la liste Top 100, une liste qui comprend les plus grandes entreprises en termes de chiffre d'affaires dans le secteur, ont réalisé 12,4 % du chiffre d'affaires mondial total.

La tendance du marché est de privilégier les acquisitions à la fois pour croître mais surtout pour différencier l'offre et pénétrer de plus en plus de nouveaux segments de marché. Depuis plusieurs années, une pratique courante dans le secteur consiste à créer des partenariats entre entreprises de luxe afin de proposer à leurs clients quelque chose de nouveau et d'original.

De nombreuses entreprises opèrent sur ce marché, telles que Gucci, considérée comme la maison de couture italienne par excellence, Prada, Armani, Versace, Ferragamo, etc.
