The Bigard family group (Bigard, Socopa, Charral) is a French company founded in 1968, specializing in the slaughter and processing of meat (beef, veal, lamb, pork).
Today, the company is France's leading meat producer, number one for beef in Europe and number three for meat in general in Europe.
In 2021, the Group will have 60 industrial and commercial sites in France, including 29 abattoirs.
Group subsidiaries operating in the sector include Socopa Viandes (sales €1.8 billion) for slaughtering, cutting and meat packaging, Groupe Bigard (sales €1.4 billion) in the same activity, Gallais viande (sales €66 million) and Guasch & Fils (sales €40 million).
The Bigard group, leader in beef and sheep meat, is also preparing to become number one in pork in France with the purchase of Abera from the Avril group.
It has also reacquired Porcos in 2021.
