IBM France is the subsidiary of the American company IBM. Founded in 1911, IBM began to expand in the 1930s, working with the U.S. government to register the first beneficiaries of the Social Security Act. In 1954, IBM pioneered the first computerized calculator and, from 1981 onwards, produced the first personal computer in partnership with Microsoft. IBM began developing its service activities in 1993.
In France, the group's oldest foreign subsidiary, IBM offers five SaaS solutions (resilience, cloud, digital, network, security) and two software services solutions (consulting and technology support).
In October 2018, IBM acquires Red Hat, world leader in open source software and developer of Linux, for 30 billion euros. In December, the American company develops H cub, a service made available to companies and public institutions to develop research projects.
IBM is expanding in three areas: cognitive computing, cloud and software customization.
