1.1 Définition et présentation

Le linge de maison désigne l’ensemble des tissus ayant un usage domestique. Ils peuvent être segmentés en six types de produits :

  • Le linge de lit;
  • Les articles de literie;
  • Le linge de toilette;
  • Le linge de table;
  • Le linge de cuisine;
  • La décoration textile.

Le linge de maison est typiquement vendu à deux types d’acheteurs très différents : d’un côté les ménages, de l’autre les entreprises opérant dans les métiers de l’hospitalité (hôtellerie, chambre d’hôte et divers hébergements touristiques). 

Au niveau mondial, le marché du linge de maison est en croissance régulière ces dernières années. L’Asie-Pacifique domine nettement le marché mondial avec une très forte croissance des ventes et un renouvellement élevé des gammes. Ensuite, ce sont l’Europe et l’Amérique du Nord qui sont les marchés les plus importants, avec des niveaux de dépenses très proche. Les dépenses pour le linge de lit sont les plus importantes, devant les dépenses de linge de salle de bain et les dépenses pour les tissus situés au sol. 

En Espagne, le marché du linge de maison est en croissance tendancielle grâce à l’accroissement de l’intérêt que les Espagnols portent à leur intérieur. Le pays abrite des entreprises comme la sévillane Tramas qui dispose de plus d’une centaine de points de vente disposés sur tout le territoire. On peut également citer les entreprises catalanes Textura et a Mallorquina avec un ancrage géographique fort dans la région de Barcelone et qui se sont étendues progressivement dans tous le pays. On note également une forte croissance des ventes en ligne au cours de ces dernières années.

  • On October 20, Carrefour announced its intention to switch 37 stores (comprising 15 hypermarkets and 21 supermarkets) to lease management.
