Founded in 1883 by a bookseller, Ravensburger is a German toy company and the European market leader in puzzles.

Ravensburger products are exported to over fifty countries. Ravensburger also expanded into video games in the late 1990s with the creation of Ravensburger Interactive, which they sold in May 2002 to JoWooD Productions.

The company was notably built through several buyouts of competitors, in order to access new markets: the Swiss Carlit in 1970, the American Wonder Forge in 2013, or the Swedes Brio and Alga in 2015, which have strongly contributed to the company's strong growth in the last two years.
