The Maïsadour group is a key player in the French and European agri-food sector. It is a cooperative group owned by its 8,000 farmer-members. The group has nearly 160 production sites (silos, slaughterhouses, manufacturing sites, seed plants, etc.), mainly located in southwestern France, but also internationally.

The cooperative group's activities are structured around four divisions

  • Agriculture (51%): cereals, fertilizers, seeds, vegetables, nutrition and animal production
  • Gastronomy (31%): foie gras, salmon, caviar
  • Poultry (15%): slaughter, cutting and marketing
  • Garden center and motorcycle growing (3%): garden center network and motorcycle growing outlets

Present in 80 countries, the group generates 19% of its turnover abroad.

Maïsadour owns Delpeyrat, a company specializing in foie gras, which since 2013 has operated the largest foie gras production site in the world. In the foie gras sector, the group also owns the companies Comtesse du Barry and Excel. The avian flu episodes that affected southwestern France in 2015, 2016 and 2017 particularly impacted the company's production.

Delpeyrat announced in 2018 the opening of a sales subsidiary in Japan. The company intends to multiply its sales there by two or three.An establishment of its Sarrade brand in Vietnam and Thailand also seems to be envisaged.

Avian flu forced the group to announce in the summer of 2017 the closure of the cannery it operated in Lauzerte under the brand Auguste Rey.
