La maroquinerie de luxe regroupe un éventail de produits en cuir (gants, ceintures, sacs à main, portefeuilles, bracelets ou autres articles de mode fait en cuir, etc.) dont la qualité permet aux marques, de les commercialiser,comme produits haut de gamme. 

Au niveau mondial, les ventes de maroquinerie de luxe se portent extrêmement bien .La demande asiatique pour les produits de luxe constitue le principal vecteur de croissance à l’échelle mondiale. Les pays enregistrant les ventes les plus élevées de maroquinerie de luxe sont : les États-Unis, la Chine, le Japon, la France, la Corée du Sud, le Royaume-Uni et l’Italie. Malgré la pandémie de covid-19, les ventes de maroquinerie sont reparties à la hausse dès la réouverture de l’économie et, les perspectives de croissance sont très optimistes, malgré la fermeture partielle de la Chine pour des raisons sanitaires.

En Espagne, le marché et la production de maroquinerie de luxe sont en croissance. Le pays affiche des excédents nets en la matière et les principaux partenaires à l’exportation sont : la France, l’Italie et le Royaume-Uni. À l’inverse de la France et de l’Italie, tournés vers les États-Unis et la Chine, l’Espagne exporte la quasi-totalité de ses produits vers ses partenaires de l’Union Européenne. Les ventes du segment du luxe représentent environ 20% de la valeur des ventes totales de produits de maroquineries, une proportion logiquement bien moindre en termes de volume.
