A matchmaking website founded in 2014, SamBoat offers:
- for sailors, to rent a boat up to 40% cheaper, anywhere in France, from a catalogue of 8000 motor boats and sailing boats, in more than 300 ports;
- for owners to write off the cost of owning a boat;
- for both, a SamBoat guarantee covering the risks inherent to the rental.
In 2016, the start-up raised €1 million from the MAIF Avenir fund, in order to sustain its international growth. The insurer also signed a strategic partnership with SamBoat, with a view to offering tailor-made insurance for boat rentals between individuals.
Since its creation, the site has also diversified into the professional rental segment. Its development objectives are now focused on the entire Mediterranean basin, and in particular Spain, Italy, Greece and Croatia
