Founded in 1729 by a former cloth and fabric merchant, Ruinart is the first and oldest champagne house in the world. The creation of the House coincides with the development of the French art of living, and the taste of "good and beautiful", of refinement. The first export took place in 1764 to Germany. Today, Ruinart is part of the MHCS company with other brands such as Krug and Moët et Chandon. As such, it belongs to the LVMH group under the control of Mr. Bernard Arnault.
Each of the brand's cuvées bears the distinctive signature of Chardonnay, which is the emblematic grape variety of Ruinart. The Blancs de Blancs are the flagship product of the house.
