Tronox is an American chemical giant specializing in titanium-based products

According toLes Echos,Tronoxhas a titanium dioxide (TiO2) production site in France, and has embarked on a recycling initiative as part of its manufacturing process. The Group's ambition is to reduce the site's sulfur consumption by 10% by installing sulfuric acid effluent filtration units.

TiO2 is notably used as a pigment thanks to its opacity and whiteness properties in papers, plastics and paints.

The site has 240 employees and annual sales of €120 million, and has been owned by Tronox since May 2019, with R&D relocating to the site from 2020.

Tronox recently acquired another market giant: Saudi-based Cristal Global, present in France through its subsidiary MIC Thann
