Heredad Segura Viudas started to market wines under its own brand in 1969, although it already started operation in the 1950, thanks to the newly acquired the technology to elaborate products of a higher quality such as their famous Segura Viudas del Penedès. In 1984, Freixenet acquired the property Heredad Segura Viudas and since then it has also consolidated itself as a producer of red, white and rosé wines, in addition to continuing to produce excellent cavas that have been consolidated in the main export markets. Noteworthy, among the cellars of the Segura Viudas winery is the Cava Reserva Heredad Segura Viudas Brut Gran Reserva: a 36 months aged cava blended of Macabeo and Parellada.
