Since 1989, the nursery of the blue coal is specialized in the culture and the multiplication of plants of sedum and other plants. The plants it produces are used in particular for the realization of green roofs or walls.
In 2007, the nursery obtained the organic agriculture label, making it the first nursery in Europe to grow organic sedum.
Since then, the company has been marketing its organic sedum product, which consists of a root ball using an assisted propagation technique. The nursery delivers to the whole of Europe within three days.
Since 2012, the nursery now offers sedum fragments for sale or ready-to-use sedum mats. The nursery has a strong ecological commitment through the use of 100% recycled cardboard.
The nursery is a small-scale structure and is one of the suppliers of plant materials for vegetation.
