Turnover: 180 million EUR (2022)

Country: France

The Looping Group was created in 2011 following the purchase of seven parks from Compagnie des Alpes. It subsequently made a series of acquisitions to expand its portfolio of assets. Today, Looping has 18 parks in 8 European countries. In total, these sites welcomed around 6 million people in 2022. At the end of 2019, Ergon Capital Partners sold its stake to Mubadala capital. This new financial backing should enable it to carry out international external growth operations. In early 2023, however, the majority shareholder expressed its willingness to sell its stake.

Looping operates four types of amusement park:

- aquariums with the Grand Aquarium de Saint-Malo and the Grand Aquarium de Touraine ;

- animal parks, with Zoo de la Flèche in the Sarthe region and Planète Sauvage in Loire-Atlantique; - amusement parks, with its eight parks (four of which are in France) offering an average of 35 attractions;

- water parks with Aqua'Fun Park.

Looping operates in 8 European countries: France, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Croatia and Spain.

In May 2023, the group took over Aquacolors, one of Croatia's largest water parks. As a reminder, it had already acquired another Croatian park, Istralandia, in March 2022. Both parks attract over 350,000 visitors a year.

The Looping Group is aiming to attract 10 million visitors a year to all its parks within five years (up from 6 million in 2022). To achieve this, it intends to develop immersive hotel experiences through the construction of new lodges in its parks, with, for example, stays based on the theme of the conquest of the West in the La Mer de Sable park, or a night among the stingrays in the Saint-Malo Aquarium.
