Founded in 1987 by Renée Henri, an interior decorator, and her youngest son, Hervé, just 19. In 1992, they moved into a building in Orange and gradually increased their production of foam, latex and memory foam mattresses, headboards, box springs and pillows. In 2012, the two partners moved into the Courthézon hangar, doubling the production line and launching a high-end bedding range. Hervé Henri is in charge of imagining the new models, and his creativity has been rewarded with the Innovation Prize awarded by the Chambre de métiers du Vaucluse.

Until now, Literie du Comtat's products have been distributed mainly in the southern half of France, but the recent hiring of two representatives aims to conquer the northern half of the Hexagon in 2017. According to Renée Henri, the success of this family-run business is based on "the reliability of production and the quality of manufacture".
