The company was founded in 1995 by Philippe Brunet, a student with a passion for sailing, who had already made a name for himself by creating the Club Nautique de Paris X-Nanterre and by renting Hobie Cats on a Breton beach in the summer. At the end of his studies, Philippe Brunet logically launched 3 rental companies Filovent (specialized in the rent of sailing boats) then RiverandBoat (specialized in river cruising in boats without a license, on the canals and rivers of France and Europe) and finally VillaNovo in 2007, a website dedicated to the rental of luxury villas. Today the Filovent Group has about thirty employees of several nationalities, with 3 offices, in Paris, Barcelona and Marrakech. Filovent offers a fleet of over 18,000 vessels, from 231 builders and 1780 models. In February 2017, Filovent announced a fundraising of 750,000 euros from private investors.
