Ecocem aims to revolutionize cement in Dunkirk 16/08/2024
- ecocem France, a joint venture between the Franco-Irish Ecocem group and ArcelorMittal, is set to launch a new low-carbon cement production process at its plant in Dunkirk (Nord)
- The plant, set up in 2018, produces 750,000 tonnes a year of binder and low-carbon cement from cast iron slag.
- 40% of production is exported, mainly to Great Britain.
- the Ecocem group, which devotes 20% of its 200 employees to innovation, counts Saint-Gobain (25%) and Breakthrough Energy Ventures (11%) among its main shareholders.
- it generates sales of €229 million, including €137 million for its French subsidiary, which has two plants, in Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône) and Dunkirk.
