Arthur expands its stores in France 09/05/2022

Arthur was founded in 1983 by two Essec students.

Based in Colombes (Hauts de Seine), the SME employs around 80 people.

The store network currently comprises 42 outlets in France, 29 of which are directly operated.

Two store openings took place in 2020 in Chartres and La Baule, and two new stores are planned for June in Cabourg and Aix-en-Provence.

The plan is to open a further ten or so stores over the next 3 to 4 years.

Online sales increased by 150% between 2019 and 2021, to represent 20% of sales. Sales in 2019 were €15 million.

The breakdown of sales in 2021: 60% in boutiques, 20% via the reseller network.

In 2020, Arthur acquired Dagobear, a French underwear brand founded 12 years ago.

A 25% increase in sales (e-shop and boutiques) was recorded. Men's products account for 70% of sales.

International sales account for 5%, mainly in Belgium.
