Here is the complete transcript of the interview:

- Florence Duprat
Between 2000 and 10 000 €. This is what a market study costs on average, not always within the reach of SMEs, VSEs and startups. Let's talk about it with my guests and Aymar Monnoyeur. Hello, you are CEO and founder of Businesscoot.

- Florence Duprat
And also Philippe Dilasser, good morning. You are the Associate Director of Initiative et Finance. Welcome to both of you. First of all, I'd like to turn to you, Aymar Monnoyeur. Do you offer market research for 10 to 20 times less? Explain to us

- Aymar Monnoyeur
Exactly. In fact, sector studies are quite expensive and difficult to access for many companies. We chose to standardize them and try to answer in about forty pages all the questions that an investor, a consultant or an entrepreneur has about a market.

- Florence Duprat
Because they are cheaper but they are also more concise.

- Aymar Monnoyeur
Exactly. We differentiate ourselves from traditional players on three levels. The first is price. The second is the scope of the market studied. We tend to go after niche markets or small market segments. And the third is the format. We have market studies that are about forty pages long, that are hyper-graphic, easy to digest. You have access to the CSVs, to the data, and that allows someone to quickly get into a subject with all the elements of the market.

- Florence Duprat
So you might ask, is this a cheaper, shorter study? Is it as accurate, is it as reliable?

- Aymar Monnoyeur
Yes, in fact there are two elements that we have put in place to be able to do good market research at such low prices. The first is that we have standardized our studies. Basically, a good sector study should answer 20 questions: market size, growth, etc. And we've organized all of that into a methodology that allows us to go much faster when we analyze a market. The second component is all the tech stuff. We allow our analysts to have access to a lot of data that they can retrieve from other studies and allow them to go faster. The second tech component concerns artificial intelligence.

- Florence Duprat
We're going to ask a user, Philippe Delesser, for his opinion. You are the associate director of Initiative et Finance. So why did you call on Businesscoot?

- Philippe Dilasser
Before I tell you why, I have to tell you who I am, what my job is. I am an investor in capital. My job is to invest in small and medium-sized companies in France for amounts ranging from 2 to 15 million euros per transaction. We are a generalist fund, we are not interested in any particular sector

- Florence Duprat
You need studies in every field.

- Philippe Dilasser
In all fields, I must quickly enter a given market to understand the stakes, the risks, the opportunities. That's it!

- Philippe Dilasser
So to what extent does Businesscoot meet my needs? The idea is that by having a Businesscoot subscription, it allows me to very quickly decipher the issues, risks and opportunities in a given sector in order to decide whether or not I want to explore an opportunity. Also if the player I'm studying to invest in seems to be a good player or not.

- Florence Duprat
Because you order 25 studies per month?

- Philippe DilasserI
have access to a subscription that offers me 25 studies per month, but I don't use all 25 studies per month today. I consider today that I have almost unlimited access with 25 studies per month.

- Florence Duprat
But there, the advantage of these studies which are of course less expensive, interesting but also more concise, the fact that they are more concise, it is also an important factor for you.

- Philippe Dilasser
It's important because I need to understand the stakes of this market very quickly. So for me, a businesscoot is synthetic. I find the information I'm looking for very quickly. It's economical and it corresponds perfectly to my needs. We look at 400 to 450 opportunities per year. We can't invest in all of them, we have to select. In this selection Businesscoot helps me to choose the investments I want to make, the ones I want to study in more depth.

- Florence Duprat
Philippe And what about the typical profile of your clients?

- Aymar Monnoyeur
We have three types of clients. We have everything that is finance, consulting like Philippe. We have everything that is marketing management and everything that is SME and entrepreneur. But one of the reasons why I came with Philippe is that, when we are much cheaper than the traditional players, it removes a doubt that is legitimate. It's cheaper, how do they do it, is it reliable? And the idea is to show that there are demanding people who are references in their field and who use our studies.

- Florence Duprat
And then there's artificial intelligence that helps you anyway.

- Aymar Monnoyeur
Artificial intelligence is a revolution going on right now. In fact, in a sector study, there are elements that are key, like the size of the market for example, or the growth. And there you need a brain. You need someone who is concise and able to understand all these issues. On the other hand, reading a note from L'Oréal, extracting the five key figures and making a summary. We have trained an artificial intelligence that will do that. It's controlled by an analyst, but it allows us to save a lot of time and therefore to update our studies more easily and more regularly. But also to keep the price low for a very high level of quality in terms of sector studies.

- Florence Duprat
How would you like to see these studies evolve? Anything fits you where there are little ones to go to, period.

- Philippe Dilasser
It's already very good and it's true that I'm used to the plan as Aymar said. And so it really allows me to find what I'm looking for very quickly. In terms of levers for improvement: more regular updating is an obvious expectation. We are in 2022, soon to be 2023, we want to have the most up-to-date vision and I think that Aymar obviously has this in mind. There is also an international dimension which is interesting. It's true that when you invest in a French company, a French SME, sometimes you want to try to see what can happen abroad: growth opportunities abroad. So having available studies on niche sectors for neighbouring markets can also be interesting.

- Florence Duprat
Among your development projects?

- Aymar Monnoyeur
This year, at the end of the year, we have almost 30% of our sales on the international market, in Western Europe. We have a little over 600 studies in France, 200 in Italy and 200 in other countries. But the idea is to build a small European player in sector studies. And for what is updated, at least in the near future, I imagine that the interview we are doing here, for example, I say that 30% of my turnover is international. Eventually. There is an AI that takes this, transcribes it, summarizes it, analyzes it, and checks it. And in 2 hours it's in the Businesscoot company file.

- Florence Duprat
All the speed. Thanks a lot to both of you for coming on the Smart Leaders show.
