Discount: Germany's TEDi takes over 42 stores from discounter Max Plus in liquidation 08/08/2023
- TEDi, the German discount specialist, has 2,900 stores in Europe.
- It is due to open its first outlet in France in April 2023.
- 42 stores of the Rennes-based Max Plus discount group (in receivership) taken over by TEDi, with around 15 in the Brittany region.
- According to Xerfi, the non-food discount market in France is worth €10 billion a year.
- Of the 202 Max Plus employees, 38 will be made redundant.
- Max Plus was acquired in 2020 by Belgian wholesale distributor Paul Dehaen.
