Prométhée nanosatellites to be manufactured by Hemeria 25/07/2023
- The start-up Prométhée was founded in 2020.
- Prométhée plans to build a constellation of 20 Earth observation nanosatellites.
- Toulouse-based defense contractor Hemeria, which employs nearly 400 people, has been selected to build the demonstrator and potentially all 20 nanosatellites.
- The spacecraft in the Prometheus constellation will be highly accurate, and will be equipped with Safran multispectral cameras.
- They will be able to take images in near-real time.
- Prométhée plans to launch a 27 kg nanosatellite in October to test the technology, and a second 17 kg one equipped with a hyperspectral sensor in late 2024.
- Prométhée, which employs 52 people, has just won a five-year, €5 million contract from the European Union.
