Micronutris (MNS FoodTech)

The company was founded by Cédric Auriol in 2011 in Toulouse who also founded the Agronutris brand for animal feed. The Micronutris brand products are intended for human food.

Their first industrial-scale plant is scheduled to open in 2021 in Rethel, in the Far East. This choice of location was mainly dictated by the significant presence of major agro-industrial players giving access to many significant deposits of co-products that can be valorised by insect feeding.

Micronutris has three activities

• insect farming
• primary processing (powdered whole animals)
• the development of finished products in partnership with industrialists

The company works with two insects: the domestic cricket and the mealworm (a larva of the sucker moth).

Micronutris offers dry food products (pasta, biscuits, energy bars, aperitif cakes), natural insects, flavoured insects (thyme, barbecue, Méditérannée, popcorn) or chocolate with insects.

Micronutris offers its products through two distinct brands: Microdélices, the sustainable food brand and Getsharp, the sports nutrition brand.
