Compagnie des Pyrénées launches aluminum water bottles 17/09/2023
Ariège-based mineral water bottling company markets top-of-the-range aluminum bottles
The young company is due to start bottling water from the Pédoures spring in 2021
The company has invested 4.5 million euros in a bottling line with a capacity of 18,000 aluminum bottles per hour.
Aluminum bottles are seven times more expensive than plastic ones
The company now sells aluminum bottles under its L'Eau neuve brand to wholesalers such as France Boissons and Distriboissons,
Aluminium bottles still account for only 7% of production, compared with 73% for cardboard, 15% for recycled plastic and 5% for glass,
Two-thirds of production is marketed under the L'Eau neuve brand, and one-third is customized bottles for 170 customers in the hotel and catering industry, major groups, sports clubs and music festivals such as Printemps de Bourges.
The company employs 44 permanent staff in Mérens-les-Vals, and has forecast sales of 5.5 million euros in 2022
