Comptoir Métallurgique Chartrain (CMC) was founded in 1969 in Mainvilliers, Eure-et-Loir, France. In 1994, CMC acquired Quibac in Vernouillet (Dreux) to extend its catchment area to the north. This merger enabled CMC to diversify its activities into hardware, tools and heating, while developing a local steel business in the north of the department.
In 1997, due to increasing volumes, management decided to open a new 2,600m² covered store in Dreux, in addition to the 5,000m² available in Mainvilliers, with over 30,000 items listed. In 2000, the iron yard at the Dreux site was doubled to 2,800m², adjacent to the 1,000m² supplies store and 200m² offices, bringing the total covered area to 4,000m². Today, Comptoir Métallurgique Chartrain supplies products and services to the building trade, industry and the public sector, specializing in steel, ferrous and non-ferrous metals
