The photomatons market
A photo booth (or automatic photo booth ) is a booth located in a public place where you can take passport photos or self-portraits individually or collectively: the service is charged, in cash or by credit card. The photomatons market can be considered as a segment of the professional photography but also from the "leisure" photo as it can be used to make official and standard identity photos, but also to make funny photos and other selfies. It is also possible to rent photomatons for private, corporate or other types of events: the segmentation is thus divided between renting photomatons for event purposes and purchasing identity photos in photomatons present in public places.
The photomatons are subjected to constraints regulatory to take official passport photos: to comply with the standards imposed by the State, the photo booth must use a system approved by the Ministry of the Interior. The evolution of the photomatons market is linked to the evolution of the number of supermarkets, hypermarkets and shopping centres in France, but also to their penetration rate in stations and other public places. However, photomatons are increasingly competing with digital web services allowing you to print and personalize your photos: photomatons therefore gradually adapt to technological developments and self-service scanners and self-service terminals were born in France.
