MARKET OVERVIEW

1.1 A sport of South American origin imported into France in 2005

The futsal is, as a discipline, a sport derived from football which is traditionally practiced on a small indoor field mostly on hard surfaces, and opposes two teams of five players

In its entirety, futsal refers to the football practice in a paying complex Futsal is a sport that is not only a sport of sport, but also an economic activity, including all the economic activities and revenues generated by its practice in these different complexes. Although there may be a difference between the discipline and the activity "Futsal", Futsal, under this name, refers to the indoor football facilities

Its introduction on the European continent was late In France the concept of five-a-side football was imported into 2005 with the creation of the first Urban Football complex in Puteaux

After a exponential growth between 2005 and 2014 a phase of consolidation was implemented between the major complexes in 2014 resulting in the creation of a nationwide market where the company " Urban Soccer - the result of the merger between Urban Football and Soccer 5 - and its challenger " the Five" - result of the acquisition of Soccer Park by Five, concentrate more than half of the complexes and exercise their supremacy, especially in the Paris region. [ The Team ] For several years, the French futsal and five-a-side market has been experiencing strong growth Five's complexes have now largely reappropriated the international rules and their practice is now based on synthetic grass on pitches of varying size, allowing for play from 3 vs. 3 to 6 vs. 6. In this respect, although it is largely inspired by South American sports, the format of futsal as it is proposed today by the complexes, was invented in United States [ Redbull ] . In the regional complexes, outdoor futsal pitches are developing. On average, among the examples targeted in the study, the complexes generally offer 1 outdoor pitch for every 4 to 5 indoor pitches - excluding Urban Soccer and Five.

The complexes are also tending to diversify their activities. This diversification is twofold, and firstly concerned the services offered to players . The resorts have adapted their offers to their two privileged clienteles, young people and companies, by proposing to them the organization of particular events or seminars in their resort. More recently, this has resulted in the introduction of new activities such as basketball, badminton, or Bubble 5 . Moreover, digitalization seems to become an important differentiating factor, and brings a real added value to the players as well as to the different franchises.
