O helicópteros são aviões a hélice, utilizados tanto nos aspectos civis como militares da aeronáutica. O mercado de helicópteros pode ser dividido de acordo com o uso: o defesa , l’ aviação executiva s, o forças policiais , l’ sector do petróleo e gás  e óleo e o evacuação sanitária para citar os mais importantes.

Após um período difícil entre 2017 e 2019 (houve uma queda de 20% nas entregas de helicópteros civis e uma queda de 13% no mercado global em 2017 e depois em 2019 o mercado como um todo caiu 15%); o mercado global de helicópteros mostra alguma promessa. De facto, após o início de 2020, marcado pela morte altamente publicitada de Kobe Bryant e pela crise do coronavírus, que abrandou consideravelmente o mercado, espera-se uma recuperação num futuro próximo, ou seja, em 2021 ou mesmo 2022. O ano 2020 deve ser um ano de estabilidade, antes de ver o mercado decolar novamente nos anos vindouros. Franck Saudo, CEO da Safran Motores de Helicópteros, disse "um cenário de recuperação gradual" e pensamento "Otimista sobre as perspectivas a médio e longo prazo". [ La Tribune ]
