Il trasporto espresso si riferisce alla consegna porta a porta di merci all'interno del paese o all'estero, in un periodo di tempo più breve rispetto al trasporto convenzionale, via terra, mare, aereo o ferroviario.

Esistono tre categorie di messaggistica in base ai tempi di consegna [SDES]:

  • Il corriere tradizionale, che si impegna a consegnare i pacchi tra le 24 e le 72 ore;
  • Il corriere veloce: il pacco viene ritirato prima delle 18:00 per la consegna in D+1 prima delle 18:00;
  • Il trasporto espresso richiede tempi di consegna più brevi: la consegna viene generalmente effettuata prima delle 12:00 con il ritiro la sera precedente. Garantisce il rispetto delle scadenze, il monitoraggio in tempo reale dell'instradamento della spedizione e la gestione completa delle formalità amministrative e doganali.
