El vino es una bebida alcohólica obtenida por la fermentación de las uvas, fruto de las vides. El vino consumido puede ser rojo, blanco o rosado en Francia y ser plano o brillante. Este estudio tratará en particular del mercado del vino blanco en Francia, que se elabora a partir de la fermentación alcohólica de uvas con pulpa incolora y pieles blancas o negras.

El vino tiene una importancia cultural muy fuerte en Francia, como lo demuestran los símbolos que los franceses asocian al vino: en una encuesta realizada en 2017, el 92% de los franceses asociaron el vino con la tradición, el 91% con la convivencia y el 87% con el compartir.
