To cope with increasing international competition, companies in the soup market are turning to R&D, as well as other growth drivers, such as ready meals or restaurant soups.
The various studies on the soup market highlight its weather-dependent character, hence unfavourable forecasts in relation to the mild winters. The winter of 2016 was hot and thus plunged liquid soups by -0.6% and dehydrated cooking soups by -0.5%. Only dehydrated instant soups increased by +3.5%.
