It is the market leader in Germany, and4th in France, with sales of 197 million euros. globally, Sixt generates 62.6% of its sales from short-term rentals, the remainder from long-term rentals. There were 2,211 Sixt branches worldwide in 2016, including more than 230 in France.
The company was also a 50% co-shareholder in the DriveNow car-sharing platform, although it sold its shares back to its partner BMW. Since then, the group has created Sixt Share in February 2019, initially in Germany, and rapidly developing in the rest of Europe and the United States, a car-sharing platform that allows users to return their vehicle to any Sixt branch of their choice.
