Gaia Trend, a family business founded by Didier Martzel, is France's leading e-liquid manufacturer. In 2010, it launched the Alfaliquid brand, which offers a wide variety of flavors: 123 different flavors in 2018 (compared with 117 the previous year), including 39 fruity flavors and 30 tobacco flavors. Its production capacity is estimated at around 250,000 bottles a day. It also has over 525 retailers in the country.
The brand's products are currently available in five ranges: Alfaliquid Original (€5.90), Alfa Siempre (€6.50), Dark Story (€6.50), Cool N'Fruit and So Fifty. The brand is looking to gradually move upmarket to differentiate itself from its competitors. In early 2018, the group also launched a clearomatizer brand, Alfatech-AXS, and is planning a forthcoming release of the AlfaPod e-cigarette.
Gaïatrend acquired high-end brand Vape Rituals (Vaponaute company, present in 17 countries) in 2017, a symbol of external growth and concentration in the e-liquid market.
