Valdunes in search of a buyer 09/09/2023
- Valdunes, the French manufacturer of wheels for trains and RERs, is currently looking for a buyer.
- Valdunes has two main sites: the main machining site in Valenciennois, employing 240 people, and a forge with 95 employees in Leffrinckoucke, near Dunkirk.
- SNCF has an estimated need for 250,000 wheels per year, but has only ordered 7,500 from Valdunes in two years.
- Alstom, a major player in the sector, buys only around 10% of its annual production from Valdunes.
