- The Centres Chorégraphiques Nationaux (CCN) were created in the 80s on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture, and were the driving force behind the "New French Dance" movement in France. Today, there are 19 schools in 15 regions of France, run by the Directions régionales des Affaires Culturelles.
