Fitbit is an American company founded in 2007 and specializing in the development and marketing of fitness monitors and connected objects.

The company goes public on May 7, 2015 with a $358 million IPO. A year later, its sales reached $2.1 billion. Yet in the face of competition from Apple and Chinese giant Xiaomi, the company's sales fell by 32% in 2017. It ranks third in 2018 in the connected watch market.

Faced with this fierce competition, the company is attempting a strategy of diversification into the various e-health segments, notably by acquiring start-ups Vector and Twine Health.
