Festins de Bourgogne was founded in 1992 by chef Didier Chapuis. The company specialized in event catering, and diversified into the manufacture and delivery of meal trays.

In 1996, the company acquired a ready-to-eat company in Lamotte-Beuvron (Loir-et-Cher), then opened a catering boutique in Marsannay-la-Côte (Côte-d'Or). Festins de Bourgogne opened two stores in Paris in 2005 and 2009. In 2013, the company created Plaisir des mets, a service dedicated to rail catering in the commune of Appoigny (Lyonne.fr).
