Founded in 1801 in Bavaria and specializing in the manufacture of hand tools and rifles, Deprag joined the Deutsche Werker conglomerate in 1918, abandoned its military activities and went international in the USA in 1981.
Deprag set up its French subsidiary in Schweighouse sur Moder in 2001, which became the group's4th international subsidiary.
Historically attached to tool production, Deprag is a leader in screwdriving technologies, including screwdrivers and new control technologies in this field. Deprag is also well established in the construction of machine tools, and in the installation of feed systems on assembly lines.
Gas turbines complete its core ranges and are low-powered, mainly intended for power generation, opening systems (e.g. aircraft doors) or tooling.
A family business, the company is run by the third generation of the Schulz-Hallmann and Pfeiffer families. It employs 700 people, including 380 in Germany
